Food for Celebrating

It’s almost the weekend. Time to celebrate the end of the week. In preparation I thought something different was in order – thus, I present some menu ideas.

I like to cook but make no mistake, I am no chef. I may not even qualify for foodie status and I’ve watched enough hours of Food Network to have a membership card. For me, simple is good when it comes to the kitchen. I’ve been traveling a lot this year, even more in the last month, so being home is especially welcome. Spending some quality time with my guys means building activities we can do together and cooking is one of them.

I swiped these directly from other people. Enjoy.

1. Sweet and Savory Monte Cristo Sandwiches

2. BBQ Pork with Dried Apple Couscous

3. Spinach Salad with Stuff

4. Cheddar Biscuits

5. Fresh Strawberry Yogurt Cake

Even if you don’t drag the family into the kitchen and have them help with the prep – get ready to enjoy some time just sharing a meal. That used to be an activity that was heavily ritualized and important for building relationships. I think that’s an idea worth reinvigorating.

What’s on your weekend menu? Are you dining in or eating out? Won’t you share a recipe for yummy goodness?
