Make it a Bacon Weekend

Welcome the weekend in a serious way – with bacon.

You can’t hold down the couch cushions if you go this route. Life is all about balance. Round out your end-of-the-week responsibility business with a firm commitment to eating unhealthily this weekend. Embrace the guilt now so you can really enjoy letting loose.

At my house we like bacon. It’s a treat because too much of anything is bad – at least that what the experts say. Since they’re the experts we should believe them. So we don’t have bacon every day. It’s a shame because daily bacon would be an ideal existence.

Food is good…but anything wrapped in bacon is better. Try it. Let’s be honest, we’re not talking healthy eating here, just good eating. Indulge yourself just this once. Since you only get one visit to the bacon-fest (unless you live uber-dangerously), make it count and fix every dish. It’s just once!

Go ahead and click…you know you wanna.

5. Bacon Wrapped Potatoes This should keep most of you going all weekend. Refer back for a second round if need be…click the tag to find previous weekend preparations (maybe you missed one?) and I’ll be back on Monday. Vegetarians cover your eyes, but the rest of you, since we’re in this together, drop back by and leave a comment. Tell us about your bacon binge. Share the cholesterol.

I suspect there is nothing that wouldn't benefit from the bacon treatment. If it were possible to try them all, I would, but I'd like to live a little longer so I show restraint.Share the wealth so I know what works the best!

I am in the "fat is good for you" camp. (But it has to be good fat, and you can't indulge in excess carbs AND lots of fat.) So I don't fret about eating bacon very regularly. Those bacon-wrapped asparagus look droolishus!

I failed to find good asparagus, but the bacon-wrapped chicken was good. Also tried brown sugared bacon (awesome). The bacon-wrapped water chestnuts sound interesting – that one's going on the "try" list.We stretched 1# of bacon through the whole weekend, so maybe we'll indulge again soon. Thanks for stopping by!
