I’m a Kreativ Blogger…are You?

The word is official.

I have it on the authority of DEBBIE JOHANSSON over in Australia, that I am a Kreativ Blogger. Look around, that’s me being crafty. Give me a glue stick and some sequins and we’ll sparkle baby. Yee-haw.

Ahem.

Anyways…the standard ramble is offer up ten bits of randomness about yourself (again!!) and then pass along the award to six deserving bloggers. I’m fresh out of odd facts to share so I’m taking the theme approach and going with favorites. Take a big breath. Here we go!

#1 My favorite color is green.

(Mostly the weird shades like moss and lichen.)

#2 My favorite childhood book was Harold and Purple Crayon.

(Awesome jammies and purple crayons!)

#3 My favorite alcoholic drink is bourbon infused eggnog.

(I know this is totally disgusting – try it!)

#4 My favorite B-movie is Bubba-Ho-Tep.

(Don’t watch this without proper preparation.)

#5 My favorite historical figure is the much-maligned Ghenghis Khan.

(My current fave is about to be dethroned by Vlad the Impaler.)

#6 My favorite author when I need comforting is Edgar Allen Poe.

(I guess that says something about the state of my psyche?)

#7 My favorite middle-of-the-night snack is ramen.

(Ramen is NOT just for college students.)

#8 My favorite place to write longhand is in a composition book.

(Wide ruled is also NOT just for college students.)

#9 My favorite time of day is the hour before dawn.

(This is especially true in summer when the songbirds sing the sun up.)

#10 My favorite candy bar is a plain old fashioned Hershey’s.

(Although I have developed quite a taste for chocolate infused with chili pepper.)

Now you know a little more about me and it’s time to tag award six more Kreativ Bloggers. As usual I’ve tried to select recipients who don’t appear to have already received this particular award. If you got marked, feel free to ignore the honor. Pretend it never happened. Likewise, if you see the award, think it’s pretty and pine for it…go ahead. I think you’re Kreativ too.

You’re most welcome, Natalie! I about cried over the ding-a-ling bling…TMI, TMI! I’ll never look at strangers the same way again!!

    Hi Lesann!

Want another blog award all the way from Australia?
There is a Smart Cookie Award for you over at my blog.

    • #4 by Leslie on February 16, 2012 - 8:05 am

*squee* I get to be a smart cookie?! Yeehaw!

      I’m on my way over…or down…or there!

  3. #5 by Bridgette Booth on February 16, 2012 - 8:08 am

No, no, no! Not wide ruled!! My handwriting gets fat and loopy in the wide lines. Need the narrow ruled to make me feel thin and orderly. LOL.

Thanks for the Kreativ Award, Lesann. Appreciate it, and I will try to pass along the award appropriately. I’ve done a lousy job so far with my award collection.

    • #6 by Leslie on February 16, 2012 - 11:04 am

LOL – I like wide-ruled for the flexibility…I’ve discovered I can write between the lines and drive (good thing I’m right-handed in a left-hand drive car), at the same time. If I’m feeling intense I put two lines of script in each wide-ruled line. This is what happens when you spend too much time on trains or in airports and have to find some way to amuse yourself.

      Sadly, that’s true.

      • #7 by Bridgette Booth on February 16, 2012 - 3:37 pm

You must have tiny, neat, legible handwriting to fit in two lines.

Wait. . . you are writing and driving? I have trouble with concentration in a quiet office so I really can’t imagine trying to write and drive. I think I’m jealous.

        • #8 by Leslie on February 16, 2012 - 7:28 pm

Not, but after years of reading student papers I can decipher almost anything.

I’ve tried dictating and then transcribing it later but I hate listening to myself talk…it’s better to just scribble it as I go. Of course I only do that on the straight parts of the road.

  4. #9 by Diana Murdock on February 16, 2012 - 8:28 am

Yippeeeee! The love flows like a river!!! Congratulations! You are so deserving!! I love your humor and way of looking at life, girl. So, now that this is headed in my direction, I see what I can come up with… Thank you for believing in me!

    • #10 by Leslie on February 16, 2012 - 11:06 am

      Thanks Diana!

I’ve learned most people don’t know I’m trying to be funny. Doh! I extra-appreciate those of you who get it (and thus, me)…the awards crack me up but I can’t NOT forward them on, it eats at me. lol

  5. #11 by Barbara McDowell on February 16, 2012 - 8:35 am

Whee! Whee! (said in the voice of the annoyingly giddy pig from the commercials with his head out the window)

Kudos for receiving the award, Lesann, and thanks for including me in your awardees! What fun. I might have to snag your idea and go with themes for my random facts. I’m with Bridgette though – must have narrow ruled lines over here.

    • #12 by Leslie on February 16, 2012 - 11:08 am

The pig image is great. Which reminds me of the new muppet movie and how I haven’t seen it yet, which reminds me of the last muppet movie I saw (forever and an age ago), which reminds me of the guy who took me to see it (yes, that was the caliber of my dates back then), which makes me wonder WTH was I thinking? …..and then I remember, oh yeah, THAT guy…he was good for one thing. *snicker*

And thus, now you have an insight into my thought-process. It’s a wonder I get anything accomplished.

  6. #13 by Tameri Etherton on February 16, 2012 - 10:55 am

You so totally rock! Of COURSE you are a Kreativ blogger, just read your random facts if you ever doubt that. Poe? Really? You are a crack up. I don’t think I’d go for Poe in a moment of need, but hey, that’s what makes you so incredibly awesome. Thanks for passing the award to me! I just might have a bedazzler locked and loaded, you just never know. I could sparkle up your Poe books if you’d like. 😉

    • #14 by Leslie on February 16, 2012 - 11:12 am

I’ve this totally unreasonable and unhealthy thing for Poe since I was wee. I think it has something to do with a certain “type”…I’m also fascinated by Einstein, Tesla, and Twain….all of whom feature in this ridiculous story that’s bobbing around in my head. Enjoy the award – all of you totally deserve it, your blogs inspire all sorts of associations that feed into my blog.

I’m not sure how Poe would feel about being bedazzled, but I suspect he was a pretty hip dude and might have sported a few…which brings my mind back to ding-a-ling bling which is NOT a visual I needed with Poe. *aghh*

      • #15 by Tameri Etherton on February 16, 2012 - 11:27 am

        My work here is done.

        • #16 by Leslie on February 16, 2012 - 12:26 pm

          Eeeevilll.

      • #17 by Bridgette Booth on February 16, 2012 - 3:41 pm

Mr. Sparkles and Poe? Well, teaching the “The Tell-Tale Heart” just got more interesting. 😀

        • #18 by Leslie on February 16, 2012 - 7:29 pm

That visual is just SO wrong.

  7. #19 by Jennifer Fischetto on February 17, 2012 - 6:42 am

Hi Lesann, I’m coming over to say hello to a fellow Platform Campaigner, and to let you know that I tagged you in a game of eleven questions.

Edgar Allen Poe when you need comforting, huh? LOL, interesting. 🙂

    • #20 by Leslie on February 17, 2012 - 6:44 am

      Uh oh…I’ve been tagged….

Welcome fellow campaigner! I’m usually not up this early and my eyes still aren’t focused. Poe is my got-to guy, not that he has much choice, but it works for me.

  8. #21 by Jane on February 17, 2012 - 2:06 pm

Hi fellow Writers Platform Building Campaigner. I stopped by to tell you that you have been tagged in a game of eleven questions. http://www.awritersmuses.blogspot.com/

    I love your award! Congratulations!

    • #22 by Leslie on February 17, 2012 - 4:34 pm

      Hi Jane! *waving madly*

Thanks for dropping by…and for tagging me. I’m beginning to know how a wall feels when it’s been hit by all that graffiti. I guess I’m really gonna have to play…lol

  9. #23 by Angela Orlowski-Peart on February 18, 2012 - 11:55 pm

Congrats on the Kreativ Blogger award and thank you for giving it to me! I LOVE IT!

So Bourbon infused eggnog, huh? I’m up for trying anything once 🙂 It actually sounds pretty darn good.

    • #24 by Leslie on February 20, 2012 - 8:35 am

Thanks Angela! You’re so welcome. I loved your Valentine’s post (rawr) and always enjoy the fashion tidbits (I’m terribly unfashionable). The bourbon eggnog creeps up on you…at first I was like “Um, gross” and then I was back in the fridge for more…
