I’m a winner!
…you can stop laughing any time now.
I’ve been awarded another Versatile Blogger Award. That’s pretty darn cool. Receiving recognition for your blogging efforts is nice. It feels good to have people appreciate your words.
Many thanks to MJ Wright for presenting me this honor. Matthew is an accomplished writer with an impressive numbers of books and articles on his vitae. His blog is equally interesting, being both entertaining and educational. For the writers in the house, check it out!
Even if you aren’t a writer, he’s terribly witty and tells a good story. You should visit.
You may be wondering what’s up with all these awards? Well. The internet, being characterized by interconnected goodness, hooks one another up and since bloggers are a sharing kind of people, eventually these accolades get passed along to everyone. You could be next. There’s even a VBA website to inventory the many great bloggers who’ve been awarded.
The rules vary a bit depending on whose version you’d been gifted. The typical guidelines recommend the recipient provide seven random bits of information and pass the award along to anywhere from 5-15 other individuals. The first time I passed it to fifteen other bloggers, the second time to another ten, and this time I’ll select five new awardees…whew!
It seems unfair to share randomness I wrote in receipt of an award from a different individual. In fact, that feels a bit like re-gifting, something I don’t like to do. So here are seven NEW random bits about me:
1. I always wanted ten children.
(EPIC failure in this department. I have one. Providence is smart that way.)
2. I’m disgruntled about needing a passport.
(I’m just going to Canada or Mexico. They’re right next door for crying out loud.)
3. I love watching snowflakes fall.
(Especially through a window from beside the fireplace with a hot drink.)
4. Lesann is a hybrid of my first and middle names.
(This is what mom always yelled when I got in REAL trouble…still does, actually.)
5. I’ve netted kangaroo rats, herded fish, and hunted spiders.
(I’d like to claim this was an aberrant one-time thing…but in truth, nope.)
6. I’ve read the dictionary from cover-to-cover, for fun.
(This is one of the reasons I know lots of stupid words nobody else does.)
7. I love hats and commit to wearing one more often.
(More people should wear hats. YOU should wear a hat. We should ALL wear hats.)
So there you are, now you know a little bit more about me. With that done, we can move along to the bestowment portion of this show…this is tough because there are SO MANY wonderful blogs out there. Please take a moment to visit MJ Wright’s blog, as well as each of the new recipients below.
In no particular order…the award passes to:
~ Traci Bell
~ Sonia G. Medeiros
~ Ryan King at Ryan King Online
~ Rachael Harrie at Rach Writes
~ Maria at the First Draft Cafe
Not everyone likes to pass the buck…so, enjoy your award and feel free to ignore the rules!

Thanks so much! I love hats too. I don’t look very good in most hats but it’s so exciting when I find one that works. And lol about spider hunting.

Hi Sonia! One of the best experiences I had was visiting a hat shop in Canada and watching all these little old ladies chattering about hats and trying them on. They were hilarious and wonderfully stylish. I can’t even begin to pull off the look like they did, but it always makes me smile.
