This week has been a cross between plot-and-plan and spin-my-wheels.
A few opportunities for adding to the weekly wordcount opened up in my schedule, and my tally totals out at just under 10K. That’s good. In terms of reading craft books – big goose egg. Nada. Not even a word. On the upside I participated in three workshops since last check-in so I guess that counts for some instruction in craft. Another big goose egg on the query check-up front. I didn’t even so much as think about this item during the week.
I’ve got a lot of career work to get finished in the coming weeks but no long-distance travel scheduled for a full twelve days and then another lengthy layover at the other end. I’m hoping to be able to use this next two-three weeks to tie up some loose ends and get my life back into a semblance of normalcy.
Did I really just use the word normalcy?
Yikes.
How was your week fellow rowers? Are you dazzling the world with your clever words?

No dazzling out of me this week, but trying for a better week this time ahead.
I’d say a week with 10K words is a good week. Good job, Lesann. Hope the lack of travel lets you get caught up.

Getting caught up is my priority this week, and once that happens, then I’ll have time to reprioritize everything else. Ironically, I got a job offer this afternoon that if it pans out actually increases the work and travel aspect, but in the long run will take me a step closer to where I want to arrive.
I know 10K sounds like a lot but it’s avoidance since I really need to be editing. It’s the hard editing too, both shallow and deep passes and I just HAVE to get it done. Deadlines loom!

Sounds like you are coming along just fine. Great word count and three workshops – wowzers! Normalcy….lol…I hear ya!

Natalie I feel like I should stand up and admit I’m a workshop junky…right now I have three in progress and two of them are longterm ongoing groups. If I had the time I’d be a writer-groupy. Musicians have them, I see no reason why we can’t. Right?

Just under 10k is dazzling! I’m drooling at that word count. The three workshops definitely make up for no craft book reading in my book. You doing terrific. Best wishes for a great ROW80 week!

Thanks for the cheering, Julie!
Wordcount is good, I’m certainly not unhappy with it but I really need to shift my efforts toward editing and away from writing. Of course, there are too many temptations so I won’t…but I REALLY need to! I need more willpower.

Just under 10K words and 3 workshops! That’s nothing to shake a stick at. I’d say you are doing most excellent. Keeping my fingers crossed that you keep up the fancy foot work.

It always sounds so much more impressive than it feels. Wordcount is good as long as the content is worth keeping – not so sure about that! If I can keep up the fancy footwork and FINISH something I’ll feel vindicated. Otherwise it’s beginning to rack up a lot more unfinished projects. Sooner or later I’ll have too much content for the works-in-progress and then it’ll be time to expunge. Yuck.
